Tell us your certification and how many days you have – we show what a week like that looks like with us, calculate the exact price, and tell you when you can board a plane. The dive site is always chosen on the morning by the guide, from the wind and the swell.
What is your certification?
If we had to pick one month from the whole year, this is it: 27 °C water, 30+ m visibility, bearable air.

SSI / PADI Open Water Diver
- Independent diving with a buddy to 18 m
- Daily boat dives anywhere in the world
- Renting gear in your own right
This is the real entry ticket: every dive center in the world asks for it. Four days, and the card is for life – it never expires.
Advanced Open Water
Most of Hurghada’s best sites start below 18 m – this course opens them. No written exam, just five guided dives.

The Hurghada diving year
Four measures on four separate scales – deliberately not one combined plot, because drawing °C and metres on shared axes would mislead.

Hurghada is divable all year. The best months are September, August, October: 25–29 °C water, 28–35 m visibility and very few wind cancellations. In winter (December–February) the water is 22–23 °C – comfortable in a 7 mm suit, and the reefs are at their emptiest.

Book the best dayWhen can I fly after diving?
Calculated from the DAN guidelines. Enter your flight home and we tell you how long you can keep diving.
What to do on the last, dive-free day?
Surface swimming loads no nitrogen, so it is completely fine on the day before your flight.
Quad bikes, a Bedouin dinner, stargazing – the desert is Hurghada’s other face, and pressure-free.
Sakkala and the Marina promenade: coffee, spices, gifts – a slow day, exactly what you need after diving.
How much lead do I need?
A starting ballast for the Red Sea. In August the water is 29 °C – that calls for a 7 mm full suit.

Planning – frequently asked questions
How many diving days should I plan for a Hurghada holiday?
On a one-week trip, 3–5 diving days is ideal: you keep time to rest and the last day stays free for the 18–24 hour wait before flying. The 3-day package is €165 and the 5-day is €250 – both cheaper than buying the same days separately.
How long before my flight can I make my last dive?
DAN guidelines require at least 18 hours after several dives or several diving days. We recommend 24, because the boat returns at 16:00 and a delayed departure then costs nothing. In practice: if you fly Tuesday afternoon, do not dive on Monday.
Which month is best for diving in Hurghada?
October, September and May are the best three: 26–28 °C water, 28–35 m visibility and few windy days. Diving works all year though – in winter the water is 22–23 °C, comfortable in a 7 mm suit, and the reefs are empty.
How much lead do I need in the Red Sea?
As a starting point, 5–8% of your body weight depending on suit thickness: about 5% in a 3 mm shorty, about 8% in a 5 mm full suit. The exact number comes from a buoyancy check at 5 m at the end of your first dive with a nearly empty cylinder.
