El Fanadir is a long, narrow reef ridge right off Hurghada – barely 30 minutes by boat, which is why it is often the site of your first dive with us. The north and south ends are separate dive sites, so you can spend a whole day here without seeing the same thing twice.

The reef top sits at 2–6 metres, then a gentle wall broken by overhangs slopes down to 25 metres – a mild current carries you comfortably along the soft-coral-covered slope. Blue-spotted rays rest on the sandy shelves at every turn, while clownfish and emperor angelfish colour the coral heads.

On the shore side hide patches of seagrass where green sea turtles regularly graze – it is not unusual to have one glide past below you during the safety stop. Its closeness, easy profile and rich life make El Fanadir our true house reef: perfect as a warm-up dive or a shorter dive day.
