At forty metres the Red Sea shows its other face: the light shifts to blue, big fish patrol along the walls, and a silence surrounds you that you never experience near the surface. Depth is seductive – but it demands respect. The Deep specialty teaches exactly that: how to dive to 40 metres while staying fully in control.

The course's 3–4 dives take you deeper step by step: first 24, then 30, finally 40 metres, on Hurghada's most beautiful deep walls. Along the way you experience nitrogen narcosis under controlled conditions: simple tests show you how your reaction time changes, and you learn when it is time to move shallower. Gas planning, spare air, safety stops – everything that turns deep diving into routine.

Everything is included: materials, equipment, all dives, boat days with lunch, transfers and certification. After the €180 course you can dive to 40 metres anywhere in the world – and the walls, wrecks and sites that used to be out of reach open up.

Your day, step by step

  1. Day 1
    Theory and first deep dives

Morning theory: pressure, gas consumption, narcosis. Then two dives to 24 and 30 metres – with reaction-time tests and a colour-change demonstration at depth.

  2. Day 2 – morning
    Dives to 40 metres

On the deep walls of Small Giftun and Umm Gamar we work down to 40 metres: gas planning, navigation at depth and a spare tank staged at the safety stop.

  3. Day 2 – afternoon
    Debrief and certification

A short knowledge check and dive debrief, then your digital Deep Diver card is issued – from now on, 40 metres is your limit.

Frequently asked questions

An Advanced certification and a minimum age of 15. Only have an OWD? Not a problem: after an instructor evaluation dive you can still start with us – or take the Advanced course first, where the deep dive already builds your experience.

2 days: two boat days with 3–4 deep dives in total, progressing from 24 to 40 metres. The short theory happens via e-learning or on the boat – the real learning is in the water.

Most often a mild, champagne-like haze: slower thinking, narrowing attention, sometimes unexplained giggles. The good news: ascending a few metres makes it vanish immediately. On the course you experience it through controlled tests, so you will recognise it instantly in real life.

To 40 metres, anywhere in the world – the internationally accepted limit of recreational diving. Anything deeper belongs to technical diving, with different equipment and gases.

Whichever you choose: the SSI Deep Diving and the PADI Deep Diver are equivalent, both certify you to 40 metres and are accepted worldwide – at the same price with us.

Its perfect partner is the Wreck specialty (€180) – the El Mina wreck sits at 30 metres, ideal ground for your new depth routine. The Rescue course (€500) is the next level of confidence on your way to the great Red Sea wrecks.

Depth, with respect

I was nervous before the deep specialty, because the world below 30 metres had always commanded my respect. Our instructor reinforced exactly that respect: detailed planning, double checks, clear signals – and meanwhile the most beautiful walls of the Red Sea. The narcosis exercise at depth was genuinely eye-opening. I became a better-prepared and calmer diver.

I have been to 38 metres

On the deep specialty we reached 38 metres, and along the way I learned what depth does to the body and the mind. The color test was my favorite: what looked red at the surface turned grey down there, then came back to life in the torchlight. Our instructor planned every step thoroughly and I felt safe throughout. A new dimension opened up for me, literally.
